I Love This Face

After a very busy day of our last Baylor Basketball game for the season and disaster dinner (Creighton fell asleep on the way to dinner due to no nap. When our food arrived, he woke up crying for me. I held him, just to get soaking wet from his leaking diaper. He cried the rest of the time.) with the Hillman family, this little guy crashed on the couch. Unfortunately, I didn't have a memory stick in my camera, so I missed lots of cute pictures today and this was all I could get- this though, this face, I love. This little boy fills my heart!

Boys Will Be Boys

James spent the morning hours with us today so his Mommy could have some one-on-one time with her little one and James could get out and play! Then his Mommy & Baby Jack came back to join us for lunch.
These two tots were all over the place, inside and outside, conversing like big boys who totally understood each other, belly laughing for at least three minutes and not once fighting over a toy or my attention.
Oh, and did I mention, they are two peas in a pod? When their shirts got wet, they both had to be dried and then I returned from the laundry room to find the toy box, emptied and both boys inside! At one point, CDP even shut his friend in the chest! Oops!
I can't wait to send Creighter Bug to James' house! Could this be the beginning of a new, Mommy and Me Co-Op!

Safety First

A small part of our playgroup met at the park today and while it's always fun to play with your children, it's so fun to talk to the Mommies too. I guess I overlooked a few things Creighter Bug was doing while we were in the horrible wind for two hours. Not so sure why, of all the sticks that were manageable to carry, he selected this, the biggest stick in the park. Oh yes, he's a boy!Parker's mommy and I were actually standing very near the boys and "watching" them, when they decided to climb up on this picnic table. Not so easy to get down though!

We actually left with no big injuries- a sinus infection of sorts- but it is was successful outing of visiting and playing!

Me and Little Miss

This is who I spent the day with today while Creighton was at Mother's Day Out and her big brother was feeling under the weather! Creighton was so excited when he joined me to pick him up and then she came over to "play" with him!

Let the Nesting Begin

My energy has reappeared...for now! Last week, I cleaned out the linen closet and vacuumed, mopped and dusted the kitchen and living area. Today, I spent three hours cleaning the kitchen, the fridge and the pantry. I had five trash bags of garbage and in the end, a super clean, super organized pantry. It sure did make grocery shopping much more fun today!

Three Little Monkeys

How fun is Supper Club when you're allowed to jump on the bed? Ann Marie, Ally and Creighton jumping on the bed---after a wonderfully yummy Cheese Ravioli Lasagna dinner. So glad they didn't get sick from the bouncing on Katy's white bed!

Call For Duty!

My nephew, Tristan Taylor, turned eight this month and we traveled to his house for an all-out army birthday party. Mimi, Pop-Pop and the boys in their army/hunting camo- I guess I didn't realize there was a difference!

Such A Snack

Why not eat a bag of chips when you get to your cousin's house to play?

Dinner Anyone?

Our travels back and forth from Abilene to Waco have been fairly numerous. At times, like tonight, we have to eat dinner on the road. Here is Creighton's food of choice- minus the package of Starburts that he devours alone. He even enters the store, walks the isles, and makes his own selection.

Could this possibly be why he doesn't eat meats and veggies without a fight?

Hey, I took an ice cream Snicker's bar for my snack!

A Dream Come True

While we were in Abilene today, I took some maternity pictures of my sweet friend, Aubrey and her husband, Justin. Aubrey and Justin are expecting Ava Kate in a few short weeks and their story is nothing short of a testimony to God's unfailing love. Already, she is a blessing beyond measure and we can't wait to meet her! We already decided that Creighton and Ava may have to marry one day!

Nap at MDO

I had to pick up Creighton early from Mother's Day Out today for a meeting. When I got there, the kids were still sleeping (or supposed to be)! Here is how I found Creighton and his playgroup friends- which are the only ones I know in his class. When I sat down to gently pat him to wake up, with his eyes closed, he so sweetly said, "Colton, Colton." Then he opened his eyes and said, "Oh, Mommy." Apparently, when Colton wakes up, he goes and wakes up Creighton too! Notice how the teacher's must have strategically placed one of them at the door and one of them across the room at the bookshelf!
Pictures were taken in the dark...with permission from Mrs. Charlotte!

We Love Today!

We celebrated Valentines, Mug's 2nd birthday and a Baylor Basketball Game today! A fun filled day with lots of people we love!
I think the ponies were the big love of the day for these littles- well, and their crazyness at the Baylor Game.

Should We Be Concerned?

This is how I found "the boys" today while Creighton was playing with these, some of his favorite toys. They go with his train track & table, but for some reason, I'm a bit disturbed that he has some how managed to bite the head off of one of the blue ones and the entire hand off the yellow one. What this kid doesn't think of!

His response to my reaction (which was probably laughter) was, "What my do, Mommy?"

Playgroup Valentine's Party

We celebrated Tristan's 2nd birthday and Valentines at Playgroup today. What fun!

Catching Bubbles at Story Time

We finally made it back to story time at the public library today. We went on a great day because they were having a Valentines party before the story part began. What a treat! We had several friends there and the leader read Creighton's favorite book, I Love You Through and Through, played with the parachute and chased bubbles. What more could a little tot ask for?

Mealtime Meltdown

I don't know if you can tell how splotchy his face is, but he cried for all of dinner and a good twenty minutes afterwards. He refused to eat ONE single bite of food. He ate all of his banana, but he would not take a bite of the meat and insisted that the chips be removed from his plate- not fast enough, so he threw them onto our table. (He must have just been in a bad mood, huh?)

We said he had to eat three bites of the meat and beans (we had taco salad) and he could get down and go play. Talk about a major meltdown.

After lots of tears, screams and us cleaning up the kitchen, I made my way to other household chores. When he screamed for me as I left the room, I told him I was going to change the light bulb in his room and he wanted to come. I told him to carefully hold the light bulb and take the bite and he could join me. He opened his mouth instantly, ate the food and almost automatically, turned back into his cheerful self. He even said the bite was good!

He still made some sobbing noises for a while afterwards. UGHHH! What an obnoxious meal!

And to top it off, we took away his binkie for good tonight! Sad mommy!

Lots of Love in the Air

Today we stayed at home and did laundry, cleaned the kitchen and baked some Valentine's treats for our friends at school. Creighton and I made homemade sugar cookies and icing. We packaged the heart cookies in little baggies and made bag tags that said, "Friends love at all times." He is taking them to MDO tomorrow and he said, "Ooo. My friends are going to like these."

Just Before the Storm

We met Brent and Tristan for about three minutes at the pond to feed the ducks, because a rain "storm" came rolling in before we could finish with our loaf of bread.

Not Lacking on Love

Today at Aubrey's baby shower for Ava Kate, Mimi brought Creighton to see all my high school friends & their kids. Mammy also came to the shower and so tooter bug had both of their attentions while he played with the tinker toys.

Reunited!

It's been a long time since these two friends have played together! We went over for breakfast and stayed late into the afternoon and we were all sad when it was time to go home. We missed you Mug!

What A Zoo!

Playgroup went to the zoo today and some of us decided to stay and chow down on the best grilled cheese in town.

Little Toosh

When I got sick, the potty training came to a stop. However, Creighton has been asking to go in his potty. After going this morning, I put on his big boy underpants. He stayed in them without making an accident for over two hours! I decided to put on a diaper when we ventured out of the house.

Mommy's Night Out

Last month our playgroup started, Mommy's Night Out! Here we are at our second dinner. I look out of it and don't worry, I was drugged up on medicines and feeling pretty awful. Even though I was coughing and couldn't hear, I really needed a night on the town. Thanks, friends!

Boo Hoo Bears, But...

at the Baylor White Out Game tonight (hense the white t-shirts they distributed to every seat in the Baylor section, that I'm wearing with my green beads that looked cuter with my yellow sweater than the white t-shirt) two of my college roomates, Fran & Kelly, came to town to cheer on the Bears and during halftime we had a quick, fun visit!

Super Bowl Sunday

Because we were still under the weather, our party consisted of the three of us, three bags of chips, some dips, cheese squares and deer sausage. We topped it off with a turtle cookie bar boxed dessert and vanilla ice cream.
